Abstract

Obesitas sudah mengenai usia anak dan remaja. Obesitas berisiko untuk terjadinya penyakit jantung dan diabetes, serta memengaruhi kualitas hidup. Intervensi untuk meningktakan kualitas hidup anak atau remaja yang mengalami obesitas salah satunya dengan peer edukasi. Tujuan penelitian mengetahui pengaruh peer education terhadap kualitas hidup pada remaja obesitas. Metode penelitian yaitu quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design. Jumlah sampel yaitu 25 responden (kelompok kontrol: 10 responden dan kelompok intervensi: 15 responden). Intervensi pada kelompok intervensi yaitu penyuluhan oleh peer  tentang obesitas, gizi seimbang, aktivitas fisik pada remaja dan senam bersama sebanyak 3x serta sharing mengenai pengalaman mengenai penerapan nutrisi dan aktivitas fisik yang baik. Pada kelompok kontrol yaitu pembagian leaflet mengenai materi obesitas, gizi seimbang dan aktivitas fisik. Instrumen penelitian yaitu PedQL Generic Core versi 4.0. Hasil penelitian didapatkan terdapat perbedaan kualitas hidup antara kelompok kontrol dan kelompok intervensi (p=0,003). Penyuluhan yang dilakukan oleh teman sebaya sebaiknya lebih ditingkatkan di kalangan remaja
