Perawatan Paliatif Berbasis Rumah: Dampak Positif untuk Anak dengan Kanker

Kanker masih menjadi salah satu penyebab kematian utama pada anak dan remaja, dan diperkirakan banyak dari mereka yang membutuhkan pelayanan paliatif pediatrik, salah satunya adalah Home-based Pediatric Palliative Care (HBPPC). Telaah sistematik ini digunakan untuk mengetahui dampak HBPPC terhadap kualitas hidup dan kualitas akhir kehidupan pada anak dengan kanker, caregiver, dan biaya perawatannya. Artikel didapatkan dari database online proquest, science direct, clinical key for nursing, JSTOR, EBSCOhost, dan hand searching dengan kata kunci pediatric cancer OR children with cancer OR pediatric oncology, home-based pediatric palliative care OR home-based palliative care, dengan kriteria inklusi diterbitkan dalam 10 tahun terakhir (tahun 2013-2022), membahas anak dengan kanker, perawatan paliatif pediatrik berbasis rumah dan hospis, dengan kriteria eksklusi desain review, studi kasus dan meta-analysis. Hasil telaah terhadap sembilan artikel ditemukan bahwa HBPPC meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien, meningkatkan kontrol gejala, memfasilitasi akhir kehidupan sesuai dengan kehendak pasien, berdampak positif terhadap caregiver, dan rata-rata diberikan kurang dari 6 bulan sebelum anak meninggal, namun HBPPC tidak menurunkan hari rawat dan biaya perawatan pada pasien anak dengan kanker. Peningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien dan keluarga seharusnya menjadi tujuan utama pentingnya pengembangan HBPPC, dibandingkan dengan penurunan biaya perawatan.
