Hubungan Dukungan Keluarga dan Self Care Management dengan Kualitas Hidup Penderita Diabetes Mellitus

Diabetes Mellitus dapat mengakibatkan berbagai komplikasi di masa mendatang apabila tidak ditangani sacara dini, komplikasi tersebut berdampak pada kualitas hidup penderita. Dukungan keluarga dan perawatan diri pada penderita diabetes mellitus merupakan faktor penting yang mempengaruhi serta mempertahankan kualitas hidup. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan dukungan keluarga dan selfcare management terhadap kualitas hidup penderita diabetes mellitus di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Bandar Baru Kabupaten Pidie Jaya. Desain penelitian ini yaitu analisis korelasi dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu seluruh pasien diabetes mellitus di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Bandar Baru Kabupaten Pidie Jaya Sebanyak 42 pasien. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 42 responden dengan teknik total sampling. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tanggal 18 s/d 24 Juli 2022. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mayoritas kualitas hidup penderita diabetes mellitus berada pada kategori baik sebanyak 23 responden (54,8%). Terdapat hubungan dukungan keluarga pada kualitas hidup penderita diabetes mellitus (p = 0,015). Ada hubungan selfcare management terhadap kualitas hidup penderita diabetes mellitus (p = 0,004). Diharapkan kepada keluarga agar dapat meningkatkan pemberian dukugan serta meningkatkan motivasi penderita dalam menerapkan selfcare management yang baik sehingga dapat menumbuhkan rasa kepercayaan diri, terhindar dari stres yang secara langsung juga akan meningkatkan kualitas hidup penderita.
