Meta-Analisis Efektivitas Madu dalam Penyembuhan Luka

Luka merupakan serangan terhadap fungsi pelindung kulit; hilangnya kontinuitas epitel, dengan atau tanpa hilangnya jaringan ikat di bawahnya (misalnya otot, tulang, saraf). Madu dapat mempertahankan kelembapan, merangsang pertumbuhan jaringan, angiogenesis, granulasi, kontraksi luka, merangsang sintesis kolagen, memperlancar proses debridemen dan mempercepat epitelisasi luka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas madu dalam penyembuhan luka. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian systematic review dan meta-analysis denagn menggunakan diagram PRISMA. Pencarian artikel dilakukan berdasarkan kriteria kelayakan Model PICO. P= Penderita luka; I= Menggunakan madu; C= Tidak menggunakan madu; O= Penyembuhan luka. Artikel yang digunakan berasal dari PubMed dan Google Scholar. Dengan kata kunci antara lain “Wound” AND “honey” AND “randomized controlled trial”. Tahun 2018 – 2021 Artikel dianalisis menggunakan digram PRISMA dan aplikasi Review Manager 5.3. 5 artikel dengan desain studi randomized controlled trial yang akan digunakan sebagai sumber meta-analisis efektivitas madu dalam penyembuhan luka. Menunjukan bahwa menggunakan madu meningkatkan kemungkinan penyembuhan luka. Penderita luka yang mengguankan madu meningkatkan penyembuhan luka sebesar 0.05 kali dibandingkan dengan penderita luka yang tidak menggunakan madu. (SMD= 0.05; CI 95%= -0.66 hingga 0.77; p=0.0001), dan signifikan secara statistik. Forest plot tersebut juga menunjukkan heterogenitas estimasi efek antar studi yang tinggi (I2 = 93%). Funnel plot menunjukkan terdapat bias publikasi yang cenderung melebih-lebihkan efek yang sesungguhnya (overestimate). Meta-analisis dari 5 studi randomized controlled trial menyimpulkan bahwa menggunakan madu meningkatkan kemungkinan penyembuhan luka.
