Penerapan Terapi Massage dan Nesting pada Bayi Prematur dengan Berat Badan Lahir Sangat Rendah Disertai Respiratory Distress Syndrome: Studi Kasus

Kelahiran prematur merupakan kelahiran berisiko dimana usia gestasi kurang dari 37 minggu yang menimbulkan dampak buruk, seperti Berat Badan Lahir Rendah (BBLR). Adanya kondisi imaturitas organ paru-paru pada bayi prematur meningkatkan risiko Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS). Dalam peningkatan pemenuhan nutrisi pada bayi prematur dengan BBLSR disertai RDS, diperlukan intervensi stimulasi berupa terapi massage dan pemasangan nesting. Studi kasus ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas gabungan terapi massage dan nesting terhadap peningkatan berat badan bayi prematur dengan BBLSR disertai RDS. Penelitian menggunakan metode pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek penelitian adalah bayi prematur dengan BBLSR disertai RDS di ruang perinatologi Rumah Sakit Rujukan Nasional di Indonesia. Pada studi kasus ini didapatkan hasil peningkatan berat badan sebesar 6,1%-7,8% dan stabilitas saturasi oksigen selama hari ke-1 hingga hari ke-3 penerapan gabungan intervensi stimulasi. Hal ini terjadi karena terapi massage menstimulasi pelepasan hormon pencernaan untuk peningkatan berat badan dan nesting menstimulasi pelepasan hormon pertumbuhan hasil dari tidur berkualitas. Penerapan gabungan intervensi stimulasi secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan berat badan dan mempertahankan kestabilan saturasi oksigen. Oleh karena itu, peran perawat sebagai pemberi asuhan keperawatan perlu ditingkatkan untuk memberikan intervensi stimulasi pada bayi-bayi prematur dengan BBLSR disertai dengan RDS.
