Abstract

ABSTRAK

Bunuh diri merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan mental utama dan merupakan penyebab kematian kedua pada rentang usia 15 sampai 29 tahun. Perilaku bunuh diri dimulai dengan adanya ide bunuh diri dan hasil dari penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki prevalensi ide bunuh diri yang cukup tinggi, terutama di Indonesia. Tingginya angka ide bunuh diri ini dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, diantaranya hubungan keluarga dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji hubungan antara hubungan keluarga dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah terhadap ide bunuh diri pada mahasiswa Universitas Indonesia. Artikel ini merupakan hasil dari penelitian kuantitatif yang telah dilakukan menggunakan desain cross-sectional study. Responden penelitian merupakan 441 mahasiswa dari 13 fakultas di Universitas Indonesia yang dipilih dengan metode accidental sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner Beck Scale of Suicide Ideation, index of family relations, dan inventory-revised (spsi-r) social problem solving. Hasil analisa data dengan menggunakan tes chi-square menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan antara hubungan keluarga dan ide bunuh diri (p <0.005) dan kemampuan menyelesaikan masalah dengan ide bunuh diri (p <0.005). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perlu dilakukan screening kesehatan jiwa guna mendeteksi dini masalah ide bunuh diri pada mahasiswa dan faktor proteksi yang dapat digunakan untuk mengatasi masalah risiko bunuh diri pada mahasiswa.
